Mozambique: President Guebuza Opens Maputo Provincial Hospital

Matola — Mozambican President Armando Guebuza on Friday inaugurated Maputo provincial hospital in the southern city of Matola.

The hospital cost 13.8 million US dollars to build and equip. It has 400 beds and can treat a thousand patients a day. It employs 220 healthcare staff including doctors and technicians.

The new hospital offers specialisms in pulmonology, general medicine, surgery, orthopaedics, gynaecology, ophthalmology, psychiatry, paediatrics, ENT, dentistry and maternity.

These services can now be accessed without having to travel to Maputo Central Hospital in the capital city.

The hospital will operate under the motto “Our Highest Value is Life”.
