Kenya: Labour CS Kambi Retires Atwoli and Mugo From NSSF Board

Labour Cabinet Secretary Kazungu Kambi has retired Cotu secretary general Francis Atwoli and FKE Executive DIrector Jacqueline Mugo from the National Social Security Fund.

Speaking at his offices in Nairobi, Kambi said he retired the two because they have served for more than two terms contrary to Section 8 of the NSSF Act.

He added that the law also states that a member of the board cannot miss more than three meetings consecutively without informing the chair. Kambi said Cotu boss Atwoli has missed nine meetings consecutively without consulting the chair of the board.

Kambi further said that the he is writing to Cotu and FKE so that they can provide a list of people they would like to fill the positions on the board.
