Nigeria: Why Malaria in Neonates Worrisome

It is no news that malaria in sub-Saharan Africa kills more children and pregnant women than any other category of people. Malariologists have argued the reason to be due to the fact that these two groups are more vulnerable by virtue of their status.

When young babies or neonates have malaria it is often not recognised by their mothers except when she has had previous experience hence it is often advised that when a baby shows certain signs such as refusal to suckle the breasts, presents with slight fever, sleeplessness and of course is unnecessarily edgy and can't sleep, mothers should not wait at home to guess what could be wrong with the child by making trials of drugs.
