Nigeria: Chibok Girls' Parents Arrive Aso Rock

Abuja — Dozens of parents of the abducted schoolgirls of Chibok, Borno State, arrived the Presidential Villa Abuja this morning to meet with President Goodluck Jonathan.

Four Abuja Urban Mass Transit vehicles conveyed them to the Banquet Hall of the State House at about 10.30am.

The parents arrived the Aso Rock Villa alongside about 30 girls believed to have escaped from the captivity of the Boko Haram insurgency.

They comprise parents of girls still in captivity, parents of escaped girls, escaped girls and community/opinion leaders who are not direct parents of the girls.

As of the time of filing this report (11.07am), the meeting was yet to commence.

Top government officials and all the service chiefs have also arrived for the meeting.

Security officers said the meeting would be held behind closed doors.
