Kenya: Women MPs, Rights Groups Call for Tougher Laws Against Domestic Violnce

The Federation of Women lawyers executive director Christine Achieng' has called on the National Assembly to enact tough laws against domestic violence in the country ahead of a scheduled debate on the Protection Against Domestic Violence Bill.

Achieng' who said that the Bill should be holistic added that is should give the courts powers to punish violators. "Security agents should be allowed to provide safe houses for victims in the new bill," Achieng said
