Our elite have not arrived at any consensus to make life fairly easy for the teeming masses.

They are still busy acquiring everything that moves, and sometimes I wonder what they are thinking and where this will all end. As I've stated here before, Nigeria is ground zero for the worst form of nihilistic capitalism; the heartless type. Here, what our political elite understand is to share rice and gari to the people, and occasionally, to send them on religious pilgrimages. Keep them ignorant, take the dignity permanently away from them. As Nigeria gravitates towards a one-party state, this nihilistic scenario will become mainstream.
