Kenya: Wall Collapses on Six Pupils

SIX nursery school pupils in Ugunja subcounty were rushed to Siaya County Referral Hospital after a wall of one of their unfinished classrooms fell on them.

Mellisa Ochieng, a teacher at Hope Vile Academy, said pupils and teachers had just left for lunch break when the six went back to the classroom to play before the wall collapsed.

She said the teachers rescued the children and rushed them to hospital.

Hospital deputy nursing in-charge Millicent Omolo said the one pupil was referred to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Referral Hospital in Kisumu.
