Lubango — The companies of exploration of ornamental rocks in the southern Huíla province produced in six months about 17.176 cubic metres of black granite, more 3.320 if compared to the same previous period in 2013.
This was said to Angop on Thursday by the director of the department for Industry, Geology and Mining, Paula Baptista Joaquim.
According to her, 12.900 ornamental rocks were produced in the first quarter and 5.166 cubic metres in the second quarter.
Paula Joaquim said that in this period the companies of production of ornamental rocks in Huíla province exported 13.915 cubic metres of black granite, reaping AKZ 3.6 billion.
She said that the rocks produced in the province were exported to Portugal, China, Spain, Germany, Italy and India, where the interest in huge, taking into the quality of the product.
According to her, some companies have opened granite manufacturing firm, permitting that greater part of the production is destined to national construction companies.
There are 40 companies that explore black granite and other ornamental rocks in Huíla province.
