Somalia: Military Court Executes Three Al Shabaab Members

Mogadishu — Federal Government of Somalia's military court has executed three alleged Al Shabaab members at police academy in Mogadishu on Sunday, Garowe Online reports.

Hassan Muhiyadin whose car was used for raid on the heavily fortified compound of Villa Somalia in July and Adan Mohamed and Bashir Hassan-two men who were convicted of killing accountant working for Ministry of Finance were executed by firing squad.

The execution of blind-folded men tied to poles in school polizio took place in the presence military court Chief Abdirahman Mohamed Tuuryare.

Speaking to reporters on the spot, Tuuryare said:" we have done our duty", referring to the charges of murder by Al Shabaab members.

Allied forces flushed Al Shabaab militants out of volatile Mogadishu in 2011. The city has since been hotbed for terror attacks after Al Shabaab honed guerrilla tactics.
