Nigeria: NSE Indicators Close Bearish, Shed 0.31 Percent

Lagos — The week began on a bearish note on Monday as trading on the floor of the Nigerian Bourse closed in the red with equities capitalisation closing lower at N13.802 trillion after it depreciated by N43.881 billion as against N13.846 trillion recorded at the close of trading on Friday while the All-Share Index shedded 132.89 basis points or 0.31 per cent to close at 41,801.51 points as against 41,934.40 points it closed the previous trading day.

Stockbrokers crossed a total of 287.650 million shares valued at N4.936 million in 5,480 transactions as against 276.500 million shares valued at N5.939 million in 4,997 transactions recorded on Friday, just as investors bought and sold a total of 205.872 million shares valued at N2.117 billion in 2,676 deals belonging to the financial service sector as against 190.351 million shares valued at N2.769 billion in 2,279 deals recorded at the weekend.
