Kenya: Jirongo to Pay Widow Sh4 Million for Killer Crash

THE High Court has directed former MP Cyrus Jirongo to pay a widow more than Sh4 million for a road accident that occurred 12 years ago. Tessie Kariuki had sued Jirongo and his driver Saul Lumbasi for negligence in the accident that resulted in the death of her husband Daniel Gitau.

Gitau succumbed to injuries sustained in the accident, which occurred at Kipkaren on the Eldoret-Webuye road in January 2002. Gitau died at the age of 45, leaving behind Kariuki, two sons and a daughter.
