Nigeria: Govt May Begin Work At 3050 Megawatt Mambilla Plant in October

The federal government may in October commence initial phase of work at the 3050 megawatts Mambilla Hydro Power plant situated in Taraba State. Minister of Power, Prof. Chinedu Nebo, who stated this at an inter-agency ministerial press briefing on Nigeria's gas-to-power sector said President Goodluck Jonathan will before the 2014 Independence Day celebration flag-off commencement of work at the hydro power plant.

The press briefing, which held in Abuja was attended by the Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke, Chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), Dr. Sam Amadi and Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele.
