Nigeria: GE Moves to Restore PH Refinery to Full Capacity

General Electric has announced plans to supply three 25-megawatt (MW), trailer-mounted gas turbines, generating uninterrupted power to the Port Harcourt Refining Company (PHRC).

The installation at the facility will ensure the country's largest oil refinery has the power it needs to overcome chronic grid outages and return to full capacity for refining from its present 30 per cent output of total maximum capacity of 210,000 barrels per day. The outages and other factors have forced Nigeria to import large volumes of refined petroleum products to meet its domestic needs.
