Damaturu — FOLLOWING bombings and attacks on worshippers in Potiskum, one of the cosmopolitan towns in Yobe State, the residents have resorted to defending themselves during the five daily prayers at mosques by organizing youths on the premises to guard against the activities of the insurgents.
Investigations in Potiskum town revealed that most of the mosques have formed vigilante groups to screen worshippers before entering the mosque premises. Vehicles are no longer allowed near mosques for fear of explosions.
