Liberia: PUP Condemn State of Emergency

The newly established People's Unification Party or PUP has joined the chorus in condemning the recent state of emergency declared by president Ellen Johnson Sirleafe on Wednesday night. President Sirleaf on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 declared a state of emergency aimed at stepping up efforts to combat the Ebola pandemic.

But speaking the party headquarters at the fish market Airfield Sinkor Thursday, the party's chairman Mr. Isobe Gborkorkollie said "the PUP finds it totally mind boggling that the president will decide to declare a state of emergency when she, as head of the National Taskforce on the most talked about Ebola virus has no report to make to the people as to the work and efforts of her task force in tackling this national menace" he added.
