Mwanza — KAGERA Region has managed to contain the spread of the deadly banana wilt by over 60 per cent as the majority of the farmers are now observing recommended preventive measures.
Principal Agriculture Research Offficer with the Maruku Agriculture Research Institute, Dr Mugenzi Byabachwezi, told the 'Daily News' at the ongoing agri-business expo here that more than 90 per cent of the farmers are now aware of the disease.
