Kenya: One Dead After Bus Overturns At Githurai 45

A 14 seater matatu overturned at Githurai 45 round about on Thursday night killing one pedestrian.

An eyewitness said earlier claimed that four people had died and several others had been injured after the bus that was coming from Nairobi overturned. It is not clear what caused the accident.

But Nairobi traffic boss Edward Mwamburi told The Star that only one pedestrian died and others were injured.

Police arrived at the scene and helped members of the public to rescue passengers. The injured were taken to St John's hospital in GIthuria 45.

It is not clear what caused the matatu to overturn. The area is a notorious blackspot. Hawkers were removed from the area last year after a bus rammed into the area killing several pedestrian, passengers and traders.
