Somalia: Alshabaab Torture Victim Gets Asylum in the U.S.

The US Government confirmed that it is going to give asylum to a Somali man who was allegedly tortured by Alshabaab.

A court at El Paso in Texas gave the verdict that the Somali national be given asylum in the United States. The family of the man who requested his full name to be withheld for security reasons is still inside Somalia. However, the man is in the United States as he fled Somalia in 2012 after Alshabaab tortured him. He also claims that Alshabaab beheaded his father.
