Kenya: Peanut Farming for Ukambani

A food growing agency will partner with USAid has launched a peanut farming programme in Makueni, Kitui and Machakos counties.

Greenforest Foods chief executive Athanas Matheka said the programme will target 3,000 farmers.

He was speaking during the launch of the program in Machakos town on Saturday.

"These farmers will include 1,500 from Machakos, 1,000 from the Makueni and 500 from Kitui county. We have identified Mwala, Mitamboni, Kakuyuni, Kisooni, Kalama, Mavindini, Nziu, Kalamba, Nzombe and Kitui Central as areas where the programme will be rolled out.
