Some MCAs from the North Rift have rejected a plan to help governors campaign for a referendum. The MCAs from Elgeyo Marakwet and Uasin Gishu county assemblies said they will not be dragged or forced to support the calls for referendum.
"As MCAs, we will meet and make our position clear on this matter. We are leaders in our own right and its not the governors to decide for us," said Elgeyo Marakwet majority leader Benson Kiptire.
