The Gambia Islamic Union, with support from Red Star Association of the United Arab Emirates last Thursday distributed 831 cartons of dates to Muslims in The Gambia, at a ceremony held at the Tallinding Islamic Institute.
In his welcoming remarks, the deputy principal of the Tallinding Islamic Institute, Sheikh Cherno Darboe said the gesture is a tradition from the UAE, meant to help the needy Muslims.
