Unnerved by a sharp slide in performance at Lyantonde hospital, its donors have threatened to withdraw from the central district.
The donors, mainly from Sweden, through their local non-governmental organisation, Uganda National Health Users'/Consumers' Organisation (UNHCO), say the district hospital has failed to perform, despite their continued donations. At the hospital, incidences of neglect of pregnant women by health workers and child birth fatalities are on the rise.
