Algeria: Maritime Passenger Transport - Pilot Line Inaugurated in Algiers

Algiers — A pilot line of maritime passenger transport between the port of Algiers and El Djamila port (in Ain Benian), west of the capital, was officially inaugurated Monday

This line, first of its kind in Algeria will by launched on Monday, departing at 3:30 pm from the Fishery Port (port of Algiers), said Transport Minister Amar Ghoul at his inauguration.

A 344 -seat Italian ship "Capitan Morgan" was chartered for this line by the National Company of Maritime Passenger Transport (ENTMV), which sets the ticket price at DZD50.

This rate, subsidized by the state, is affordable compared to expenditure and investments made to achieve this pilot line," said Ghoul.
