THE appointment and, soon after, the swearing-in last Friday of 20 new judges by President Jakaya Kikwete is very much a step in the right direction in the overall effort to ensure fast dispensation of justice in both criminal and civil matters before our courts.
It is a fact that needs no much belabouring that the new "ladies and gentlemen of the top bar" will greatly assist in the unenviable task of tackling and clearing the backlog of cases at the High Court drawers.
