Someone once told me that if you give up liberty for security, you don't deserve either.

He was referring to Uganda's corrupt government officials whose only remaining mission is to 'save their asses', other than serving society. For fear of being exposed by whistle-blowers, the people with power become more secretive, rather than transparent - admitting their guilt. My friend explained that Fascism and the Nazism survived because there were no whistle-blowers who remained alive.
