Nigeria: Yobe Assembly Passes Vote of Confidence On Gaidam

Members of the Yobe State House of Assembly yesterday moved to dispel the rumour that Governor Ibrahim Gaidam might be impeached as they passed a vote of confidence on him.

The lawmakers, after a special sitting on the floor of the assembly decided that there was no reason for a move to unseat the governor who they claimed had a good working relationship with the legislative arm of government and had been working assiduously towards delivering the dividends of democracy and had also been "transparent and accountable" to the people that voted him into office.
