Kenya: Ababu, Raila Woes Split ODM Western Officials

ODM officials in Kakamega and Bungoma counties are divided over the treatment of Budalang'i MP Ababu Namwamba by the party. One group led by Kakamega party chairman David Major and his Bungoma counterpart Erick Wambasi said Western region will ditch ODM unless Namwamba is respected.

Major and Wambasi told a press briefing at Golf Hotel in Kakamega town on Wednesday that "mistreatment" of Namwamba by the party could be a blessing in disguise. They said leaders from across the political divide in the region are in talks to come up with a common outfit for 2017.
