Kenya: Mtwapa Residents Protest Poor Infrastructure and Corruption in Kilifi

RESIDENTS of Mtwapa town, Kilifi have protested poor infrastruture in the county.

They blocked the Mombasa-Malindi highway on Wednesday.

Reformed Matatu Owners Association chairman Elvis Kipkoech accused the county government of failing to deliver necessary services.

He said instead county officers have engaged in corruption and mismanagement of funds meant for development.

"We have waited for one year and the county government has not delivered anything. What we continue to witness is poor roads, poor health services, luck of sanitation facilities and insecurity in Mtwapa," Kipkoech told the Star during the demonstrations.
