Angola: Power Transportation Cables From Gangela Dam Installed

Chibia — The installing of the medium voltage cables that will transport power from the Gangelas hydroelectric dam, in Chibia Municipality, southern Huila Province, to the irrigation perimeter is almost concluded, the supervisor of the works, João Delgado, informed last Saturday.

Speaking to ANGOP, in Chibia, the official revealed that it has already been installed 12 kilometres of cables, adding that this will enable to support the irrigation perimeter.

He said also that there will be studies on how the power cables should be extended to other municipalities.

The Gangelas dam was rehabilitated in 2009.
