Angola: Veteran Musician Mamukueno Dies

Luanda — Angolan musician José Matias "Mamukueno" passed away last Saturday, in Luanda, victim of an ilness. ANGOP has learnt that the musician suddenly felt bad overnight, did not resist and passed away.

The 67-year old musician has released hit albums like "Memória de Mamukueno" (2005), "Ezakungiamba" (2006) and Tambuleno in 2009.

His first public appearance as a singer happened in 1966, as the lead vocalist of the "Estrela Negra" group.

His last album, entitled "Nga Sakidila", came out in 2013.

José Matias "Mamukueno" was born on 5th October 1946, in Luanda, where he started his musical career.
