Nigeria: Virologist Charges Nigerians On Safety Measures Against Ebola

As parts of efforts to curb the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) outbreak in the country, a virologist at the National Institute of Medical Research (NIMR) Lagos, Dr. Salu Olumuyiwa has called on Nigerians to always carry out necessary safety measures to prevent the spread of the virus.

Olumuyiwa gave the advice in Lagos during a sensitisation programme aimed at enlightening workers of the Nigeria Ports Authority (NPA) about EVD and the safety measures to adopt to prevent infection. He charged Nigerians to adopt the basic hand washing measure with soap and water while also using sanitisers, noting that soap is a very powerful sanitiser that capable of destroying virus cells walls.
