Kenya: Activist Wants Chief Sacked

A land rights activistsly in Narok county has accused an assistant chief of inciting locals over the controversial 4,296 acres Muthera Farm in Mau Narok.

Josphat Mpoe has appealed with county commissioner Farah Kassim to dismiss chief Jackson Kasaine ole Lokero of Empapat sublocation for allegedly interrfering with the disputed ranch.

Speaking to the media in Narok town yesterday said the administrator has failed to maintain peace in the sublocation.

"It is sad for a government official to engage in activities that deny locals their rights such as land dispute. He has been working closely with one of the parties in the despute," Mpoe said.
