Kenya: Passenger Plane Crash At Manda Bay in Lamu

A light passenger plane crashed on Tuesday morning at around 11:00am minutes after take off at Manda Conservation Hotel and Safaris, a private resort in Lamu West.

The pilot and one passenger survived the crash that occurred at Manda Bay one of the islands in Lamu County, the plane was destroyed during the crash.

Lamu county commissioner Njenga Miiri said the plane crashed seconds after take off after developing mechanical problem.

Manda is a popular tourist hub across Lamu Island which has been affected by the killings that has kept tourists away from the popular tourist site.
