Nigeria: Corps Member Causes Stir Over Refusal to Stand for National Anthem

Kaduna — A member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Kaduna State, Batch B, yesterday refused to stand for the national anthem, an action which displeased Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero.

The incident occurred at the end of the closing ceremony of the 2014 Batch B' orientation course at the NYSC camp. Our correspondent reports that the governor left the podium where he was addressing the youths to fish out the member, but was unable to find him as he had "disappeared".
