Zimbabwe: Employee Stress Levels Too High

WE recently undertook a survey on prevalence of distress and other mental health problems in Zimbabwe's working population. 707 employees responded to this survey. Mental health is defined as a state of well-being whereby individuals recognise their abilities, are able to cope with the normal stresses of life, work productively and fruitfully, and make a contribution to their communities (WHO).

The Four-Dimensions Symptom Questionnaire (4DSQ) developed by Terluin(1996) was used in this study. The questionnaire measures the following dimensions.
