Mauritius: The UK and Mauritius to Set Up a Carbon Calculator

London — High Commissioner Jonathan Drew signs agreement with the Ministry of Environment

The United Kingdom is assisting the Mauritian Ministry of Environment to set up a Carbon Calculator in Mauritius. The agreement for the grant worth £20,000 was signed on Wednesday 26 August by High Commissioner Jonathan Drew and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr Premhans Jhugroo, in the presence of the Minister of Environment, Hon Devanand Virahsawmy. This project will allow Mauritian authorities to quantify greenhouse gas emissions, and model multiple scenarios in relation to its mitigation actions. The UK Pathways 2050 Calculator will be used as a model.
