Cameroon: North West Registers Over 24,000 New Voters

A few days to the close of the electoral register in the North West Region, officials say there has been an increase in the number of newly-registered voters. According to statistics from the ELECAM North West Regional office, as at August 21, 2014, some 12,905 men and 11,772 women had registered, giving a total of 24,677 new voters.

To go by division, Mezam tops the chart with 10,316, followed by Donga Mantung with 2,968. Bui occupies the third position with 2,820, followed by Boyo with 2,579 and Ngoketunjia with 2,189. Momo is sixth with 2,170, while is Menchum is seventh with 1,635 newly registered voters. The electoral register that was opened on January 1, 2014 as per the law will officially close on August 31, 2014.
