Kenya: 10 Feared Dead After Boat Overturns in River Nzoia

A passenger boat with 16 passengers on board capsized at Narera crossing point in River Nzoia at around 1pm on Saturday leaving scores of people dead.

Locals say the overloaded boat had left Port Victoria in Busia County and was heading to Mau Mau beach when it overturned in Budalang'i.

Seven people have so far been rescued from the boat accident while a body of a child has been recovered from the scene of the accident.

The body of the child recovered belonged to a woman who was rescued from the raging river. Two of her children are still missing.
