THE Machakos government has renovated 40 hospitals in the county, health executive Naomi Mutie has said. She said one community hospital in each of the 40 wards has a maternity ward, a theater, a laboratory and staff quarters.
This has brought down maternal and infant mortality significantly, she said. The county's acquisition of 70 ambulances had also improved emergency response from about one hour to ten minutes as all locations are catered for, she said.
