Namibia: Legendary Mzee Cut From a Rare Fabric

Ohalushu — Family members of the late Simon Mzee Kaukungwa said the fallen liberation struggle icon possessed rare qualities that included humility, authority and fearlessness.

Kaukungwa, who would have turned 95 next month, died of cardiac arrest at Ongwediva Medipark on Monday evening. He was 94 years old. According to Helvi Nanghelo Nambili, the late Kaukungwa's young sister, her brother made it clear that when he dies, his wake should take place at his Ohalushu homestead.
