Kenya: Regulators Seek Cushion From Act

The five regulatory bodies in the financial services sector have secured a crucial backing from the National Treasury in their quest to be exempted from seeking Parliament's nod for laws.

The Statutory Instruments Act 2013 requires all regulators to seek approvals from the Cabinet and parliament for new rules, orders, regulations, directions and guidelines.
