Tunisia: NCA - Consultation Meeting On Ways to Expedite Discussion of Anti-Terrorism Bill

Bardo — A consultation meeting on ways to expedite the discussion of the draft law against terrorism and money laundering was held Thursday in Bardo.

The meeting was attended by members of the National Constituent Assembly (NCA) Bureau, presidents of parliamentary groups and blocs and government representatives, said Badreddine Abdelkefi, assessor in charge of relations with citizens, civil society and Tunisian expatriates.

He added that participants in this meeting made several proposals to address the problem of absenteeism of deputies and overcome the delay in work.

These proposals will be submitted today to the NCA Bureau for discussion, he noted, adding that the government has suggested dividing this bill into two parts: one dedicated to the fight against terrorism and the other to money laundering.
