Ghana: Revenue Generation Is Key-MCE

The Municipal Chief Executive of Adentan Municipal Assembly Hon. Baroson Angenu has advised the people of the community to take resource generation seriously to help in the development of the entire area to enable the Assembly give a new face of the municipality.

According to him, the budget set for the area hasn't been met and urged the people to pay their property rate to help the assembly generate revenue for the development of the Municipality.

The MCE made the comments during the Assembly's Public Forum held at the Calvary Baptist Church at Adentan in Accra.

He noted that the Assembly needed money to enable it help in various projects initiated to come to reality.

He took the opportunity to advise the people on the outbreak of cholera in the country, urging them to be keep clean environment and desist from dumping refuse into gutters.

He advised people not to use the bins provided for storage of water but for what it was intended for and this would help create good environment for all.

The Municipal Planning Officer Mrs Lilian Baeka also elaborated on the projects undertaken so far in the municipality. She said there were no resources from the District Assemblies Common Fund to help carry out the projects. According to her, the health situation in the area would be resolved as soon as possible as government was working so hard to that effect. She noted that the education sector was progressing as the municipality had put up 3- story building already and another 2- story building with classrooms for the area was on-going.
