Kenya: Form Four Girl Delivers Triplets

A form four student in Nyamira county has given birth to triplets.

Winnie Mong'are delivered the three baby girls through Caesarian section at Nyamira County Hospital.

The 18-year-old student at Nyakeore Secondary School said she is not be able to take care of the children.

Her mother, Hellen Moraa, said the girl told her that the triplets' father is a student and cannot assist in anyway in their upkeep.

Winnie is to sit her Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education examination next month.

By yesterday, she had not named the triplets.

A nurse at the hospital said the children are all in good health.

Moraa said Winnie is her first born and has several siblings.

She said the infants are an additional burden to the family and called on well wishers to assist them as Winnie would also like to return to school and finish her studies.
