Liberia: RAL Calls for Defense Minister's Suspension

The Reporters Association of Liberia or RAL is calling for the suspension of Defense Minister, Brownie Samukai, pending outcome of investigation into the death of the late 16-year-old Siaka Kamara in the township of West Point by armed soldiers.

The President of the Reporters Association of Liberia, Keith Morris, on Wednesday, 3 September said RAL commends the U.S. Government for her position on the West Point riot that led to the death of little Siaka. Journalist Morris said Defense Minister Brownie Samukai denial and subsequent admittance that the lad was shot simply proves that he lacks moral to investigate the incident.
