Zimbabwe: War Vets' Axe Attackers Acquitted

TEN war veterans who invaded a black-owned farm in Masvingo East and struck the owner with an axe were this week acquitted of the charge of public violence and are now facing a lesser charge of trespassing.

Masvingo magistrate, Jabulani Mzinyathi, handed his judgment after the war veterans' legal counsel, Makura Bezel, applied for discharge on the public violence charge at the end of the state's case last week.
