Nigeria: FG Targets 50 Percent Road Accidents Reduction With RSG 2014

The Federal Government has said that the new Road Safety Guideline (RSG 2014), developed by the Nigerian Building and Road Research Institute (NBRRI), under the auspices of the Ministry of Science Technology, if properly aligned with the government's road development projects' objective will reduce fatalities on Nigerian roads by 50 per cent.

The Minister of Science Technology, Dr. Abdul Bama, and his Works counterpart, Mr. Mike Onolememen both averred this, at the inauguration of NBRRI Technical Advisory Committee and launch of the Road Safety Guideline 2014, in Abuja over the weekend. The 13-member committee is headed by Prof. Salihu Mustafa, while the Director General of NBRRI, Prof. Danladi Matawale is Secretary.
