Nigeria's militant group, the Boko Haram Islamic sect has been terrorising the North-eastern part of the country for over five years. Though their activities are almost confined to Borno, Yobe, Adamawa, Kano States and sometimes Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, yet the damaging effects of each attack perpetrated by the group has remained a great source of anxiety to every Nigerian.
No fewer than 5000 persons have lost their lives in the various mindless bombings masterminded by the sect. Countless have been fatally injured. Commerce and industry have witnessed setbacks in the affected areas. There has been a huge pressure on security agents who have had to go the extra mile to curtail the rampaging insurgent group. And worst still, President Goodluck Jonathan has been under immense pressure to find lasting solution to the Boko Haram problem. It is a national dilemma!
