From being a caddie to Uganda Amateur Golf Open champion, Willy Deus Kitatta's story is reminiscent of the usual sporting rags-to-riches stories, writes Moses Mugalu.
On September 6, Kitatta, formerly an average football and tennis player, claimed the country's most prestigious golf tournament title when he defeated Adolf Muhumuza in the sudden-death play-off to win the Uganda Open. Having joined the sport in 2011 as a caddie, Kitatta made history in winning the Open title in just his third time of asking.
