Nigeria: Using Radio to Stimulate Democratic Culture, Good Governance

POLITICAL education comes in different platforms, especially for a developing country like Nigeria. The radio as a mass medium has variously been appropriated to enhance political education in Nigeria to effect. The radio has played key roles in the democratic process, as it "affords the citizenry opportunity to assess development ideologies of political parties". Beyond entrenching good governance, radio can also help to deepen democratic values.

These were some of the submissions of university don of Theatre Arts Department, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Dr. Canice Chukwuma Nwosu, in a paper he presented at a recent Africa Media and Democracy Conference at Kofi Anan Centre, Accra, Ghana.
